Ballet Wooster has a lot to offer this summer! For ages 3 through adult, beginners to advanced, there is something for everyone. Registration is ongoing. Contact us with any questions. To register for camps and classes, mail in the registration form below (2 pages, front and back) with your payment:

2018 SUMMER REGISTRATION FORM

DISCOUNTS: *NEW!* Multi-Class Discount: A discount is offered for each additional class registered for by a single student (10% off 2nd class; 15% off 3rd class; 20% off 4th class). Multiple sessions of same class do not qualify for Multi-Class discount. A Family Discount is offered for families with more than one child enrolled. The student in the highest level pays full tuition. Each additional child receives a 10% discount off total enrollment fees. Family Discount CAN be used in conjunction with Multi-Class Discount. Discounts must be applied at time of registration and cannot be applied retroactively.

 EJ THERAPY BALLET/YOGA

Ages: 4+
Dates: Aug 6-10 (M-F) 10:00-11:15 a.m.
Description:
EJ Therapy has been committed to providing pediatric Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapy services to typical and developmentally delayed children for 20 years. This summer, Ballet Wooster is proud to collaborate with EJ Therapy to offer an opportunity for your child to enjoy a week of ballet classes.  Enjoy moving to music, stretching, and learning basic ballet steps in an adapted environment for your dancer.  The camp will culminate with an in-studio performance to show everything your dancer has learned throughout the week.

CREATIVE MOVEMENT
Ages: 3-5
Dates: Session A: Saturdays 9:00-9:45am, June 9-30 (4 wks)
            Session B: Saturdays 9:00-9:45am, July 28-Aug 18 (4 wks)
Description: A joyful introduction to movement through music and rhythms in a class structure. Students will develop physical skills and stimulate their imaginations. SUMMER FUN includes activities, creative play, and preparation for placement in Fall classes. No previous experience required.
Dress code: Children should wear comfortable clothing that allows a full range of movement and bare feet. Hair should be pulled back securely and off the face in a ponytail or bun. Dresses and jewelry are not permitted.

PRE BALLET I/II DANCE CAMPS
Ages: 4-6
Dates: Session A: “Superheroes Unite” June 18-22 (M-F) 10:00-11:15am
             Session B: “Royal Princesses” June 25-29 (M-F) 10:00-11:15am
             Session C: “Neverland Adventures” July 16-20 (M-F) 10:00-11:15am
             Session D: “Fairytale Princesses” July 23-27 (M-F) 10:00-11:15am
Description: A magical, themed, and fun introduction to ballet through creative and fun activities, including a daily ballet class, story time, and in-studio performance on the last day of camp. Each session has a different theme, so we recommend signing up for all of them! No previous dance experience required.
Dress Code:
Girls: Leotard, tights, and pink ballet shoes with elastics sewn. Hair should be pulled back securely and off the face. No jewelry, other than small stud earrings, is permitted.
Boys: Black tights or pants, plain T-shirt, white socks, white ballet shoes with elastics sewn.
Last day of camp is themed dress up day (details provided during camp week).


Beginners, adults, classes for anyone:

ADULT / TEEN BALLET
Ages: 13+
Dates: Session A: Mondays 7:45-8:45pm, June 4-25 (4 wks)
             Session B: Saturdays 10:45-11:45am, June 9-30 (4 wks)
             Session C: Mondays 7:45-8:45pm, July 23-Aug 13 (4 wks)
             Session D: Saturdays 10:45-11:45am, July 21-Aug 11 (4 wks)
Description: A perfect opportunity for adults and teens to begin ballet or for those who wish to return to the studio.  Classes will emphasize the joy of movement while working on flexibility, strength, balance and grace. No previous experience required.
Dress Code: Ballet shoes (leather or canvas), any style leotard and pink or black tights (dance skirts optional), OR comfortable clothes to move in such as yoga pants and a T-shirt. Our goal is for you to feel comfortable and able to move freely.

ABSOLUTE BEGINNER’S BALLET
Ages: 6-12
Dates: Session A: Saturdays 9:45-10:45am, June 9-30 (4 wks)
            Session B: Saturdays 9:45-10:45am, July 21-Aug 11 (4 wks)
Description: Introduction to the formal ballet class with emphasis on theory, terminology, postural alignment, and rhythmic awareness. This class prepares the student for Fall placement in the Classical Ballet levels. Both sessions recommended. No previous dance experience required.
Dress Code: Girls: plain black leotard, theatrical pink footed tights, pink ballet shoes (canvas or leather) with elastics sewn and strings tucked in. No ballet skirts or leg warmers please. Hair secured in a ballet bun with hairnet. No jewelry other than small stud earrings is permitted.
Boys: black tights, dance belt, plain white T-shirt tucked in, white socks, white ballet shoes with elastics sewn.

MUSICAL THEATER FOR ADULTS / TEENS
Ages: 13+
Dates: Session A: Saturdays 11:45-12:45pm, June 9-30 (4 wks)
            Session B: Saturdays 11:45-12:45pm, July 28-Aug 18 (4 wks)
Description: A perfect opportunity for adults and teens to learn music theater skills, such as some jazz steps and basic acting skills while exploring past and present musical theatre and Broadway shows. Material will be organized based on the needs of the class and developed with the individual students in mind. Whether you’re 13 or 30, if you love Musical Theater, then this class is perfect for you.
Dress Code: Barefoot, black or tan jazz shoes, any style leotard and pink or black tights, OR comfortable clothes to move in such as yoga pants and a T-shirt.  Our goal is for you to feel comfortable and able to move freely. Hair secured off the face.

MUSICAL THEATER FOR KIDS
Ages: 6-12
Dates: Session A: Saturdays 10:45-11:45am, June 9-30 (4 wks)
            Session B: Saturdays 10:45-11:45am, July 28-Aug 18 (4 wks)
Description: Ready for a crash course in Musical Theatre? Students will learn jazz steps and basic acting skills while exploring past and present musical theatre and Broadway shows. Material will be presented in a clean and tasteful manner, and will challenge dancers to grow as performers while they develop personality and character. No dance experience required.
Dress Code: Any colored leotard and pink or black tights. May wear tight fitting shorts over leotard.  Barefoot, black or tan jazz shoes. No ballet shoes or baggy clothes please. Hair secured off the face.

HIP HOP / CONTEMPORARY DANCE CAMP
Ages: 7-12, 13-18
Dates: Session A (Ages 7-12): July 9-12 (M-Th) 9:15-10:30am
            Session B (Ages 13-18): July 9-12 (M-Th) 10:30-12:00pm
            Session C (Ages 7-12): July 23-26 (M-Th) 4:45-6:00pm
            Session D (Ages 13-18): July 23-26 (M-Th) 6:00-7:30pm
Description: A fun and unique opportunity for students to explore the hip-hop and contemporary dance styles. This camp will begin each day with a thorough warm-up and then transition into high energy movement, concentrating on either hip-hop or contemporary style. No previous experience required. Camp is divided by age level and ideal for those with or without experience.
Dress Code: Comfortable clothes and clean, supportive shoes that allow for full range of movement.

FITNESS BOOT CAMP
Ages: 10+
Dates: Session A: Saturdays 9:45-10:45am, June 9-30 (4 wks)

            Session B: Saturdays 9:45-10:45am, July 28-Aug 18 (4 wks)
Description:
Specifically and safely designed for dancers and fitness enthusiasts of any level, our fitness boot camp is a combination of strength, cardio, muscle endurance, flexibility, core strengthening, and functional movement exercises. No dance experience required.
Dress Code: Comfortable clothes and clean, supportive shoes that allow for full range of movement.


Elementary, Intermediate & Advanced Dancers:

ELEMENTARY BALLET PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP (“SLEEPING BEAUTY”)
Ages: 6-10 (currently enrolled in Classical I-II-III)
Dates: June 4-7 AND June 11-14 (M-Th) 4:45-6:45pm                                                                                     
Description: This fun and unique two-week class serves as a performance workshop for students currently enrolled in Classical Ballet Levels I-II-III. Curriculum includes a daily ballet class, mini-French lessons, jazz technique, choreography, and more, culminating in a final costumed performance of “Sleeping Beauty” for family and friends on June 14 at 6:00 p.m. Bring an individual snack and bottle of water.
Dress Code:
Girls: plain black leotard (camisole style preferred – no embellishments), theatrical pink footed tights, pink ballet shoes (canvas or leather) with elastics sewn. No ballet skirts or leg warmers please. Hair secured in a ballet bun with hairnet. No jewelry, other than small stud earrings, is permitted. Dancers on pointe should wear convertible tights with split soles.
Boys: black tights, dance belt, plain white T-shirt tucked in, white socks, white ballet shoes with elastics sewn.

CLASSICAL IV-V-VI SUMMER DANCE INTENSIVE
Ages: 10+
Dates: Session A: June 18-21 (M-Th) 4:45-7:45pm
           Session B: June 25-28 (M-Th) 4:45-7:45pm
           Session C: July 9-12 (M-Th) 4:45-7:45pm
           Session D: July 16-19 (M-Th) 4:45-7:45pm
Description: This Summer Dance Intensive is for Ballet Wooster Company students committed to developing their classical ballet technique and enriching their dance training. Classes include, but not limited to, ballet, pointe & variations, character, jazz, modern, contemporary, and fitness. Current Level V-VI students: three weeks required, four weeks recommended. Current Level IV students: two weeks required, additional weeks recommended. By placement only. (Additional “Pick Up Classes” offered Tues/Thurs throughout summer. Separate registration form for current Company members available here.)
