FAQs

How can I get in touch with Ballet Wooster?

You can reach Ballet Wooster’s administration by emailing info@balletwooster.org, using the StudioChat feature on StudioPro, or messaging us on Facebook/Instagram. Please do not attempt to reach Ballet Wooster instructors, directors, or Board members through their personal accounts. Any communication must go through Ballet Wooster’s accounts so messages on personal accounts will not be answered.

Where should I purchase dancewear?

All items required for classes can be purchased at dancewear stores. We recommend Stage Center, Footsteps Dancewear, and Center Stage. Some items may also be found at Wal-Mart, Target, or on Amazon.
Girls: Light pink ballet shoes should fit snug to your foot like socks. Tights should be light pink and footed. Leotards must be black with no skirts or distracting embellishments.
Boys: Black ballet shoes should fit snug to your foot like socks. Wear black tights or leggings and a white t-shirt.

How early can my child start?

Ballet Wooster offers classes starting at 18 months. “Dance with Me” is a class for parents to participate alongside their child. After completing a session of “Dance with Me,” your student may be ready for “Creative Movement” which is a 45 minute class for ages 2.5 – 4 years old. Students attend this class while parents wait in the waiting room.

Can I watch my child’s class?

We want our students to be as fully engaged in class as possible without outside distractions. Parents, siblings, and personal items are not permitted into the classroom. However, Ballet Wooster currently has three studios with varying levels of visibility for parents. While parents are not able to enter the studio with their child, in most circumstances you are able to see and hear into the classroom. If the waiting area becomes distracting or disruptive to the class, or if a student has a tendency to try to leave the class, the instructor has the option to close the classroom door.

Do you offer any discounts or payment plans?

Yes! Ballet Wooster is proud to offer a variety of options for families:

Family Discount – The first student pays full tuition, the second receives 10% off, the third, 15%, and fourth or more will receive 20%. These discounts are automatically applied at registration.
Multi – Class Discount – If you register for multiple sessions of a class, you will receive a 10% discount for each additional class. This is especially beneficial during the summer when we offer many shorter options.
Payment plans – Ballet Wooster’s policy is that tuition must be paid in full by the first week of classes unless a payment plan has been agreed upon. At the discretion of the Artistic Director, families may opt in for a monthly payment option, available only for cash or check payments. The balance must be paid in full a month before the end of the semester, or before the semester’s performance. Any performance fees must be paid in addition to the first payment and are non-refundable. If you fail to follow the agreement, you will be ineligible for a payment plan in the future and the entire fee must be paid up front.
